“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

― Carl R. Rogers

I understand that it takes courage to seek support and to be vulnerable with another person. I also understand that it takes time to build trust in a relationship. Quite often we enter therapy seeking relief from symptoms, be that stress, anxiety, difficulty sleeping, depressed mood, feelings of emotional overwhelm or burn out; and whilst symptom reduction is an important goal of therapy, I believe in treating the factors that are at the core of a person’s difficulties. Working primarily from an attachment-based perspective, my approach is collaborative, person-centred and aims to build a strong therapeutic relationship to help clients to explore their core issues and work towards meaningful change.

I enjoy working with older adolescents (15+) and adults who experience a wide range of issues related to relationship stressors, past trauma, grief and difficulties adjusting to major life changes and events, depressed mood, symptoms of anxiety including panic and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), poor sleep, and chronic health conditions including chronic pain. When working with clients, I draw upon a number of trauma informed and evidence based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and a I have a special interest in Schema Therapy.

In my experience, people have innate strengths and are the experts in their own lives. My role is to help you to draw upon your own strengths and to build upon the foundations you already have in order to have a good life- whatever that may look like for you.

If I sound like the right person to help you with your therapy goals, then I very much look forward to meeting you. I am welcoming of all individuals who are neurodivergent and of all genders and sexualities.
